Director of the Institute has a career in journalism and academics spanning over a decade. After
completing his Masters in English literature Dr. Kashikar completed his masters' programme in mass
communication and journalism with first rank in University. Dr. Kashikar started his career as a reporter cum
sub editor in Desh Pardesh Ni Aajkal ,an evening daily from Rajkot in 1996. Two years later he moved on to
the State Information Department as an Information Officer and sub editor and worked in both north and
southern parts of Gujarat ,like Valsad and Rajkot. During his tenure at the Information department he covered
various high profile functions attended by the former President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam ,former Prime Minister
Mr. A B Vajpayee ,former Home minister ,Mr. L K Advani. Dr Kashikar was bestowed with the best article
writer’s award of state Information department in 2002-2003. |

As an academician ,he has taught in Journalism department of Saurashtra University as a visiting faculty at
P.G. level. He has presented papers on various subjects related to modern mass communication and history of
journalism. His papers have been appreciated by various academicians during state and national level
seminars. |

Mr Joshi has behind him the experience of being a media Planner
with experience of working on more than 50 productions. Mr Joshi has produced segments for cable network
series ,pilots ,and on-air commercials. Mr Joshi who has done his GNIIT from NIIT Bangalore ,is the “
Production and Account Management Consultant” for Chrysalis Communication Pvt. Ltd. And Ozone Film
Productions Pvt. Ltd
Some of the TV serials that Mr. Joshi has completed include ,Education Series of Science Channel for “INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANISATION ,Ahmedabad ,Bhar Wina Nu Bhantar 36 Episode , on air

Core Faculty at NIMCJ she is teaching Print Media an essential medium in the industry even today. With
a varied experience in reporting and having worked with national dailies like The Indian Express and The
Hindustan Times ,she is not only teaching the students about the media but enabling the students to get a first
hand experience with news reporting. In her career spanning over a decade ,she has covered the Gujarat riots,
Assembly election in Gujarat and Lok Sabha elections while working with The Indian Express. and has also
covered the bureaucracy in Madhya Pradesh while working with The Hindustan Times in Bhopal. She has
also handled the Features Page in Hindustan Times and has been working with London based newspaper
The Asian Voice , writing about the developments in Gujarat |
